African american hair help!?

I have really babyfine-ish hair and when I relax it it puffs back up and then it starts to break off. I really can't do anything thing with it for the fear of it breaking. Umm I've already had hair extensions and i don't really have the money and my mum can't do it because of a medical problem. So I was wondering if anybody knew of a way that I could relax my hair and keep it from breaking off and stop it from puffing back up.

don't relax your hair...just wear it natural

my hair has very little curls and when it dries, it puffs.

so, what i usually do is that when i wash it and soak it with a towel,i put some gel or styling product and wrap it with a big fabric pony tail. This lets it dry in small curves or strait if I wrap it straight with a handkerchief.

it depends on the length of your hair.

good luck

Maybe go to a hairdresser or look on the internet for relaxers that dont harm your hair

I'm not African American, but I am Italian, and my hair is very kinky-curly and dry. I have been using "Hair Mayonnaise" for the last month, and it makes a world of difference. It is extremely moisturizing, and helps prevent breakage. You can enhance its effectiveness by mixing it with an egg, or some olive oil, letting it sit on your hair for an hour or so, and rinsing thoroughly.

My hair is the same way...washing every week and a half helps ...washing to often dries your hair and makes it brittle. I also put a treatment in my hair with every relaxer. I use "olive oil relaxer" and as a treatment i mix a little mayo and 2 eggs which is pretty good for your scalp was well. In between washes I use aveda control paste to help tame the fly aways in the front. I wrap my hair with a silk scarf at night to hold the moisture in....my hair is now healthy and strong!!! Let me know if that works for you! Good luck
