I have naturally curly hair at my tmples and straight everywhere else which is a pain. So I always have to either get my hair permed all around, or straightened at the temples. Perhaps you can do the same.

I am confused are you african american because you were born in africa and became and american citizen. Or are you black and do not know there is no such thing as being born black in America, doesnt give you the right to claim African citizenship. If you are a black american I can answer your question. You have many avenues to pursue care for your hair, as a black american (people) we come in all shades of color, hair textures and facial features. Just find the right hair products for your texture by visiting a hair salon.

heat damage from flat ironing your hair can cause your hair to permanently go straight. Make sure to always use protectant when u flat iron.

it sounds normal to me. my natural hair at the very front (where bangs would be if i had them) grows out straight and the rest is like yours

NO...there is nothing odd about that... people of african descent have hair of all different textures...we don't just have tight coiled curls like most believe...we range from all different textures...nope your comment isn't odd at all...!
