Relaxer touch ups should be done every 4 to 6 weeks. It is only to be applied on the new growth a lot of people who do their own hair overlap to the already processed hair which causes breakage and overprocessing. You should wash it at least every 7 days, but at least wait a week after relaxing it. Make sure to always hydrating or moisturizing shampooes.

You shouldnt perm your hair more often than every 2 months for conditions sake. i can recommend an amazing hair relaxer from salons called paul brown hawaiian complex. it really works and lasts up to 6 months. It can cost anything between 鎷?0-$200 depending on ur salon and where you live! Be very careful about over using relaxers at home this often as you will likely break the hair and african american hair has more tendency to frizz after chemical treatment due to its texture. Hope you try the paul brown and have success!!!

Well, I wash my hair once or twice a week (depending on if I go to my cheer classes or not. My hair smells really sweaty after I work out so I usually wash it afterwards.) You shouldn't wash African American hair everyday or it will get very dry and brittle. I use Garnier Frutics Length and Strength. It is supposed to make your hair stronger so that it can grow longer and my hair has made it about 2 inches or so since I started using it in august.
You also shouldn't relax your hair more than once every 2 or three months. This is probably why its not growing right. Wait for about 2 months and make sure that you ONLY relax you new growth or your hair will be overprocessed and break off. I use a relaxer called silk elements and my grandma is a stylist and she uses the whole motions collection. They both work pretty good.

A lot of people say that you should relax your hair more often that every 2-3 months. It's a popular opinion but one I don't share. I had my first relaxer at age 5 and at 22 my hair is more than halfway down my back. I've cut it many times (sometimes 4-5 inches at a time) and it always grows back. I am full black (not bi racial). I relax my hair faithfully every 6 weeks and wash it once or twice a week depending on how often I work out.
I think your problem has more to do with pulling your hair back and using a No-Lye relaxer than the frequency. Lye relaxers moisturize your hair and are much healthier for it (as long as they are applied by a professional). When you pull your hair back to use the human hair ponytail you are adding a tremendous amount of stress to your hair. If you stop pulling it back and get it professionally done with a lye relaxer, I guarantee it will start to grow. I recommend Nioxin shampoo and conditioner and Silk Therapy for moisture.
Good Luck!
