I'm going to the beach in Jamaica for spring break. I have african american hair. What do i do to protect my hair while at the beach and still look cute?

Wear braids. you don't have to style them and they will stay in place, even if your hair is wet. You could also bring a good shampoo with you to try to wash out all of the beach sand and salt water if you get it wet. also bringing wraps to style your braids with or ponytail holders would help keep your braids in style. if you think your hair is not going to do well with braids, bring styling gel and simply gel it down. wrap it each night and try not to get it wet or if you do get it wet, be sure to shampoo well and rinse it well to get sand and other particles out.Wash hair with Pantene Pro-V Color Revival Shampoo. It cleans hair without stripping color and leaves behind a protective layer of silicone to protect hair from damage. Pantene Pro-V shampoo works very well with african american hair (brown bottle) and protects hair from the sun because it has uv protection. don't forget that frequent washing of hair can damage it, so to prevent damage deep condition with a uv conditioner to protect your hair from the sun and breakage. use a cream or hair moisturizer to prevent hair from drying out and looking scary. and if blowdrying gives your hair that poofy look simply get a flat iron and press out the poofs. be sure you don't get it too hot, as this will burn your hair. i hope you and your hair are healthy and happy after using this advice.
